Can a Mini-Split Handle 100°F Heat?

When temperatures cross 100°F in Phoenix, Dallas, Las Vegas or California's Central Valley, homeowners sometimes assume their mini-split has failed because it runs almost continuously.

Continuous operation during extreme weather is not necessarily a problem.

A variable-speed system is designed to run for long periods.

Why Heat Waves Are Different

The mini-split must remove heat entering through:

If shade is provided, it must not interfere with manufacturer clearances.

When Continuous Operation Signals a Problem
