Mini-Split Minimum Capacity: Why It Matters

When homeowners compare mini-splits, they normally look at the biggest number:

Maximum BTUs.

There is another number that can matter just as much:

minimum capacity.

What Is Minimum Capacity?

An inverter mini-split can vary compressor speed.

Instead of producing one fixed amount of cooling or heating, it can operate across a range.

  • Minimum: 3,000 BTU/h
  • Rated: 9,000 BTU/h
  • Maximum: 12,000+ BTU/h
