While information available on the web prior to my purchase made it seem like I would be able to control my mini-split down to 50 degrees (F), once I had it set up, it was very clear that direct control was limited to those options original to the minisplit itself. Thankfully, I was able to work around this by simply setting up the incredibly easy-to-use automations in the Boldr app that supercede the unit's own controls (e.g., don't turn on until room temperature is 50 degrees, turn off at 52 degrees, etc.).

I was disappointed in the fact that none of the more "advanced control features," several of which my minisplit will do with the stock remote control, work with Boldr. They all just say, "features coming soon." Likewise, I would really like to integrate this into my Apple Home so as to avoid the need to manage the HVAC in a separate application, but that, too, is "coming soon."

I hope the Boldr team is truly working on making those things a reality!

Finally, as of this review, the Klima's baseline read on indoor air temperature is four-to-five degrees low (e.g., reads 63 when temperature is actually 68). This is clearly "a thing" for the Klima, as the Boldr app includes an easy-to-access section within Settings to offset the baseline readout. However, it does not work well, and, once you set the adjustment offset (e.g., +5), when you come back into the app, it will show you all sorts of wonky offsets. Mine said "+18" at one point, and it now says "+7." Thankfully, it is actually only offsetting the reading by the intended +4, but seems like a simple thing to program out... yet there it is! If I need to make an adjustment, it is a real hassle to try and guess what the changes I make will do to the actual device reading.

The mirrored screen or cover plate fell off my Boldr unit.it was glass and fell from about 4’ feet high, didn’t shatter or damage. I was going to try to glue it back on but Boldr just sent me a new one. Quick delivery too.

Klima Smart Controller

A big improvement over LCD remotes. However, the app is not as intuitive as it could be.
One feature that would be a big improvement is automatic shutoff after a certain period of time: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.
I have four units. Two paired with my Mitsubishi mini splits easily, the other two required 5-10 attempts to pair with the same brand mini splits because it said that the pairing needed to be completed after it should have already reached the completion of the pairing process.

First of all, the device itself is beautiful and stylish. Decent interface. The install process was challenging because it kept giving an error saying that it had to complete pairing even though I had done so. It required a customer service call to fix something on the server end. Customer service was great, prompt, and very knowledgeable.

But this brings me to my main point. They have been talking about Matter and Homekit for the better part of a year, and it has remained in its final stages for at least 6 months. Though I love the app and the device, I don't want to be beholden to the server. Both protocols need to be implemented so I don't have to rely on someone fixing something on a server. As kind as the gentleman was, that shouldn't be needed.
