It's a nice-looking product. The app and instructions are easy to set up. I joined my network with no issues. It feels like setting up a Nest product (which is good in this case).
However, it could not control my Fujitsu Split Air. It’s nice that BOLDR includes a method to send an image of the split air specifications and remote so they can help figure it out. We will see how it goes.
Oh, and clicking submit on the review takes me to the shop? Weird.

It doesn’t look good with the cable on the wall .

I’m asked to review “usb-c cable”, as though it’s a specific thing, not a standard, so I’m assuming it’s the Boldr device itself identified by variant (usbc-vs-mains power?)

I haven’t hooked it up: I found Boldr from a HomeAssistant referral. I’m a Siri household who uses HomeAssistant.io to connect to things Siri cannot by itself — such as a Nest thermostat running heat.

The shipped version doesn’t discuss HomeAssistant nor an API, so it’s useless to me: another silo that only works with the sketchier of voice assistants (no privacy, no local-responses). I cannot bridge using home-assistant as there’s not even a local API (I bet Boldr will now swing around the specter of local Evil Doers Wrecking the Intarwebz as a reason to keep their API closed and cloud-dependent)

I regret supporting the project.

I hope others have more success, but worry if they don’t value their privacy nor low-latency reaction time.

The provided USB cable is perfectly functional.
